Product update

More control over your library, and less manual work keeping it that way

Timea Borbath · August 12, 2026 · 5 min read

Give your team room to personalize a slide without risking the parts you need protected. See exactly who opened your last proposal. Update one image and let every slide that uses it follow. Six updates shipped across June and July:

  • Partial slide locking. Lock only the elements that have to stay fixed and leave the rest editable, so people adapt a slide instead of rebuilding it from scratch.
  • Custom brand colors. Put your own colors on the platform alongside your logo.
  • Email capture and playable video in Send & Track. Know which person opened your link, and share heavy decks whose video still plays.
  • Similar slides up to 10x faster. The scan runs in the background, so results are waiting when you open it.
  • A smarter MCP integration. Faster slide generation from Claude and ChatGPT, with less back-and-forth.
  • Admin-managed images and icons. Change the source once and every slide using it updates itself.

Anders walks through all six in the video above.

Let people personalize a slide without touching what matters

Locking used to be all or nothing. Either a slide was editable or it wasn't. You keep the wording but lose the flexibility.

Now you can lock individual elements and leave everything around them open. The approved claim in the middle holds while your team reshapes the framing for the meeting they're actually in.

How it works:

  • Insert the slide and open the slide locking feature.
  • Select the elements that must stay fixed, then click Start locking selected. The lock runs in the background and takes a few seconds.
  • Save the partially locked version back to the library, so it becomes the version everyone pulls.

This is for teams who need to:

  • Protect claims, disclaimers, or figures that carry legal or brand risk.
  • Let end users tailor slides to a client without a review round.
  • Cut down on off-library copies that appear whenever governance gets in someone's way.

Make the platform look like your company, not ours

Your account can now carry your brand colors, not just your logo.

Enter your main color under account branding and SlideHub proposes tinted shades to match, then applies them where they belong across the interface, with a preview before you save. For anyone rolling SlideHub out internally, it stops reading as a third-party tool bolted on beside your systems and starts reading as part of them. Adoption is easier when the thing looks like it belongs to you.

Know who opened your deck, and send video that plays

Two Send & Track improvements that work well together.

You can now ask viewers for their email before they open a shared link. Rather than knowing somebody at a company looked at your proposal, you know which person, when, and from where. That turns a hopeful follow-up into a timed one.

The second solves a problem you've probably hit this year. A deck with an embedded video runs past 50MB, which email won't take. Export it to PDF and the video vanishes. That deck now opens in seconds through a link, with the video playing in the browser, sound and all.

This is for teams who need to:

  • Work out who in a buying committee is actually reading the material.
  • Send product or customer videos without stripping them into stills.
  • Share large files without falling back on a file-transfer service.

Spend less time cleaning up near-duplicates

Deduplication is the maintenance job that gets postponed, because on a large library the scan alone took long enough to break your afternoon.

The scan now runs in the background, so results are ready the moment you open find similar slides. Each group also reports how many slides it holds and how many are genuinely identical rather than merely similar, so you can see at a glance which groups are a safe merge and which need a look. Roughly ten times faster in practice, and the gain grows with library size.

Get better slides out of Claude and ChatGPT

Using your library from an AI assistant got noticeably better this round. Slide generation needs less back-and-forth with the model, has a clearer sense of what to fill in and when, and comes back faster, alongside UI and download improvements and a batch of reliability fixes.

If you haven't connected it yet, your Claude or ChatGPT administrator can point it at the SlideHub MCP, and we're glad to help set it up.

Update one image, and every slide using it follows

Admin-managed placeholders already kept recurring text current wherever it appeared. They now do the same for images and icons.

How it works:

  • Open Manage placeholder identifiers on the slide and switch to the manage tab.
  • Pick the managed item you want, shown in pink, and click to link it.
  • Confirm the update and validate the association. SlideHub reprocesses the slide and embeds the current image.

Swap an office photo, a certification badge, or a partner logo at the source, and every slide carrying it updates without you going looking. It's the same thread running through this whole update: fewer things to remember, and fewer places your library can quietly drift out of date. There's more on that in our automation features.

See what's next, live

Our Q3 product webinar is on October 8, 2026 at 3:00 PM CEST. Anders will demo Excel Data Link keeping your slide graphs in sync with the spreadsheet your team already maintains, template validation catching slides that have drifted from your master, and the rest of the quarter's releases. There's live Q&A at the end, and everyone who registers gets the recording.
